Penjelasan Descriptive Text Paling Mudah Dipahami
Kemampuan mendeskripsikan sesuatu tidak hanya penting pada saat mempelajari Descriptive text. Kemampuan tersebut juga penting dalam kehidupan kita sehari-hari. Sebagai contoh saat kita kehilangan sebuah barang dan kita ingin orang lain tau dan ikut membantu menemukan barang tersebut, maka kita harus membuat orang lain mengenali barang tersebut salah satu caranya adalah dengan mendeskripsikan barang tersebut dengan menyebutkan ciri-cirinya.
Contoh yang lain saat kita melaporkan orang hilang atau melaporkan pelaku kejahatan kepada polisi kita pasti mendeskripsikan orang tersebut supaya polisi atau orang lain tahu orang yang dimaksud.
Itulah beberapa contoh pentingnya memiliki kemampuan mendeskripsikan sesuatu. Pada kesempatan kali ini kita akan mempelajari bagaimana cara mendeskripsikan sesuatu dengan mengikuti aturan-aturan yang berlaku dalam sebuah Descriptive text.
Fungsi dan penjelasan descriptive text
Descriptive text sendiri adalah jenis teks yang digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan sesuatu yang spesifik seperti barang, hewan, tumbuhan, orang, tempat dsb.
Fungsi descriptive text sendiri adalah untuk memberikan gambaran tentang sesuatu yang spesifik yang sedang dideskripsikan, sehingga orang yang mendengar atau membaca descriiptive text dapat mengenali benda, hewan, ataupun orang yang dideskripsikan.
Sedikit perbedaannya dengan Report text adalah Descriptive text tidak bersifat umum, deskripsi dalam sebuah descriptive text hanya berlaku untuk benda, hewan atau orang yang sedang dideskripsikan saja.
Sedangkan Report text bersifat umum dan deskripsinya berlaku untuk semua jenis benda atau hewan yang dideskripsikan.
Generic structure
Seperti halnya jenis text yang lain, descriptive text juga dibentuk dari beberapa bagian paragraf yang membentuk struktur teks itu sendiri.
Beberapa bagian descriptive text adalah seperti berikut:
Title
Bagian ini berisi judul. Judul yang digunakan dalam descriptive text biasanya merujuk pada hal tertentu.
Contoh: My Cute Cat Snowie.
Kalau kita menggunakan judul yang bersifat umum, misal: Cat. Maka deskripsinya akan berlaku untuk semua kucing secara umum.
Identification
Merupakan paragraf pembuka yang menyebutkan benda, hewan, atau orang yang akan dideskripsikan secara sekilas.
Paragraf yang ditulis hanya sebagai pengenalan saja.
Description
Bagian utama dari descriptive text yang mendeskripsikan bagian-bagian, ciri-ciri fisik, sifat atau karakteristik dari hal yang dideskripsikan.
Ciri-ciri descriptive text
Kita dapat mengidentifikasi sebuah teks melalui ciri-cirinya.
Salah satu ciri descriptive text adalah menggunakan Simple Present Tense, menggunakan Personal Pronoun sebagai kata ganti untuk penyebutan benda, hewan, atau orang yang dideskripsikan.
Menggunakan adjective, karena adjective memiliki makna yang mendeskripsikan kondisi atau situasi tertentu.

When I feel down, Snowie is always there to lift my mood up. Snowie of course can't talk, but his funny attitude always makes me laugh so I'll be happy.
Snowie is not just a pet to me, he is my best friend.
I love Snowie very much and I will always take care of him.
My Childhood friend Siddik

He lives next to me. His house is across to mine.

Siddik has a good personality. He cares to his friends.
Siddik is a good person and also cheerful. Every time Siddik's friends are sad Siddik will be around to make everyone happy. He will try to make a joke and make the situation cheerful.
Siddik loves to play futsal. He is always be the captain of the team because he is good at it.
I have been friend with Siddik until we graduated from college. After graduating Siddik doesn't live next to me anymore. He moves out of town because he works there.
I am little bit sad because I don't have any friend since he moved.
But I am happy because He finally gets the job he wants.
He works at a company in Bandung as an IT technician. Since High school he is interested to IT, and finally he gets a job as an IT technician.
Although we live in a different town, but we still communicate each other.
Sometimes we meet at holiday and he looks different now.
He looks mature now, and he is more calm.
We will always be friends until both of us are old.
